Over the past seven years Deborah has established Opportunes business prospecting, networking and mentoring arms which host regular functions across Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich, Gold Coast, Toowoomba and the Sunshine Coast. Following the 2011 floods she secured various Government grants used to help revive the community within the Somerset Region plus she also project managed two Business Expos to assist the revival of local business and agriculture. She has owned & operated several small businesses and is an experienced businessperson. Deb has a keen interest in Southside Education and Hymba Yumba which are Independent Schools for disadvantaged youth many of whom are Indigenous. The School has an active community of Elders who support the cultural endeavours and provides extended family units to the students.

Colin is Certified Management Consultant and a specialist in business strategy, planning and management. He has a diverse business career having been engaged in corporate Banking and later with BP Oil International managing retail markets of $600m; Project Managing infrastructure projects in Fiji & Western Samoa; a CEO of a retail chain of 85 book and stationery stores; Director of Strategy for KPMG in NZ; MD of a light steel fabrication plant; MD of a commercial office fit-out and retail design and build organisation and as a contract CEO for several business recovery assignments. He has operated his own smaller businesses internationally and is currently a Director of the Opportune organisation which includes a not-for-profit arm. He is also Board Chairman of two organisations and a Vice President of the Southport Chamber of Commerce. Colin created the initial Business Improvement Clinic programmes in year 2001 and has executed some 70 Clinics round the world in NZ, UK, Canada, USA and Australia since that time.  Those Clinics gave rise to the current Indigenous Business Improvement Clinics which is unique to Opportune and designed to help ‘Close the Gap’. This is a philosophy Opportune fully endorses as a way of assisting indigenous business owners develop commercial independence and the capability to compete fully in the mainstream

Leanne is past participant of Opportunes IEP Clinic programme who has continued to grow her own successful career as a valuable cultural adviser to corporations and their indigenous employees. She operates her own business ‘Oasis of Inner light’ which undertakes cultural advisory and mentoring services, life coaching & counselling, training & assessment plus facilitation of events, workshops and training courses. She completed the FaHCSIA Indigenous Leadership Program in 2008 and holds several other accreditations in the areas of Editing, Proofing Reading and Public Sector Writing. Leanne is an experienced, ethical and self-motivated professional with a genuine desire to assist others fulfil their potential to realise their career drives or business ownership ambitions.

In partnership with Tracey Greenwood, Helen has developed Wham Training an online training business covering short and advanced courses in OH&S. Having worked in her own businesses as well as working for WorkCover Qld she realised a need to assist employers to navigate their way around the worker’s compensation minefield. Her initial goal was and still is to help employers reduce their worker’s compensation premiums. This goal has led to the business now having a very strong focus on safety as it is evident that without a safe business, injuries will occur and clearly employers do not wish to hurt or injure their employees.
